Above is the print I have donated to the Main Street Winter Gala 2011. This is an event to benefit Main Street Batesville. You can search for more information on the event at the link.
The donated print is titled Cold Train. It is printed on 16 x 20 archival paper and is professionally framed and ready to hang. I forgot to take a photo of the actual framed print before I delivered it to Paula Grimes office, Paula is the director of Main Street Batesville.
I remember playing on this train when I was growing up in Batesville, AR. It was in a different location not too far for where it is now. Mom used to take me to DQ (Dairy Queen) for a Dilly Bar and then to the park. This is something she also did with all her grandchildren. I even worked with a man whose father actually operated this engine at Limedale. I remember back when I got to play on it you could still lock someone inside the boiler. The old train is looking good now! I’m sure many more Mom’s and Grandma’s will let there kids play engineers, train robbers and such.
